Griswold Family Christmas Photos

When two of your best friends ask you to take Griswold family photos with a chicken, you say "yes!"

These two are definitely becoming regulars on my blog.  From engagement photos, to their wedding, to a newlywed session, and now Christmas photos.  We took a few photos in normal attire before switching to the Christmas card theme.  Pretty sure we laughed the whole time!

And our daughter will call him Uncle Aaron.  Oh goodness!

Stay classy this weekend, folks!

Baby H's First Christmas

Another session from over Thanksgiving!

Fortunately for me, my family owns a wedding venue in my hometown called Ritchie Hill.  This means I always have a beautiful spot to take photos when I travel home!  It was my great-grandmother's house, remembered by me as my grandmother's house.  My dad and his siblings grew up there, and although I spent my early childhood in Chapel Hill, NC, my family moved into the house with my grandmother when I was in middle school and high school.  Now, completely renovated, the house hosts weddings and other events, creating beautiful memories all around.

The house & grounds provided the perfect late-autumn background for this sweet little girl's first Christmas pictures in November.  Mom had so many cute outfits packed that we HAD to switch it up a few times!  I could have taken little H's picture all day long.  She was the sweetest baby.  Spending time with her made me even more excited for our little girl's arrival in March!

The Hinsons & Fur Hinsons

I can't believe it's mid-January!  Where did the holiday season go!?

My husband and I are lucky to be a military family stationed in our home state.  On top of that, we are high school sweethearts, so traveling home for the holidays means to the same town.  Our families' homes are 5 minutes from each other.  I can't imagine deciding which family to visit or which state to travel to.  Or what's worse, not being able to visit your family at all.

Over Thanksgiving weekend we packed it all in.  My 6 month pregnant self, the hubs, and our 3 dogs drove the 4.5 hours home.  We filled every minute of every day with seeing friends & family.  It was amazingly exhausting.  I even got to squeeze in a few photography sessions!

Julie is a friend from high school, and I had the best time capturing her, her husband, and their two fur babies at their home.  The whole family (dogs included!) is so photogenic & their property is amazing.  They have an outdoor kitchen that would make Joanna Gaines cry.  Seriously.

Hope everyone is having a Happy 2016 so far!
